This event is being held in Holden Fine Arts Center, room 1174. Dr. Jones will be presenting on a new piece of scholarship in the area of teaching and learning.  It is a method book for teaching the snare drum.  The snare drum is typically the first instrument taught to students of drums and percussion.  This new method book takes students from the very beginning of learning how to play the snare drum and how to read music to an advanced level of both playing the snare drum and rhythmic literacy.  The text is divided into 35 Lessons each of which includes descriptions of new techniques, playing exercises, and practice etudes.  Each lesson will be supported by a linked video with explanations of the new material and playing samples.
